TLH, Advocates & Solicitors has secured adecisive outcome for Piramal Pharma Limited before the Principal District & Sessions Court at Sangareddy, in a long-standing property dispute concerning land forming part of Piramal's 80-acre active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) manufacturing facility.

Background

The plaintiffs claimed title over land forming part of Piramal's 80-acre API manufacturing facility and challenged Piramal's registered title deeds dating back to 1998. The suit raised multiple issues going to the heart of Piramal's land ownership and the validity of its registered documentation - making the outcome particularly significant for the integrity of the facility's operational footprint.

The Outcome

The Court dismissed the suit with costs, rulingin favour of Piramal on six of seven issues framed for determination. The judgment delivers a comprehensive and unambiguous vindication of Piramal's title and reaffirms the strength of its registered documentation. The dismissal with costs further underscores the Court's assessment of the claims advanced by the plaintiffs.

Significance

For Piramal Pharma, a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer with a significant operational presence in Telangana, the ruling provides decisive legal certainty over a critical asset. Disputes of this nature where the validity of registered title deeds tolarge-scale industrial land is brought into question carry significant consequences for operational continuity, facility licensing, and long-term investment planning. The Court's ruling, dismissing the suit with costs on six of seven issues, represents a thorough and well-reasoned vindication of Piramal's position.

The matter also reflects the complexity of real estate litigation in the pharmaceutical and industrial sectors, where land title disputes can have material implications for manufacturing continuity, regulatory compliance, and long-term business planning.

The TLH Team

The matter was led by Senior Partner Sanjay Kishore and Partner George Varghese, with Senior Associate Abhijeet Talwar.
